posting to say that one should neither contemplate the drive or walk to the
Van Etten, Ny skatepark. It is completely laughable and I see it as they owe me
a tank of gas for driving all the way to that disguisting display of embarassment.
It is literally a small tennis court enclosement with two plastic-ish quarter pipe ramps
and a 2 ft high flatbar, the rest is all free space. Oh, and there's a picnic table too!
Well, when i actually went to look at the "park", there was no table.. but in this site
reviewing the new fantastic spectable for skateboard kids to do their UPS and DOWNS
and gee golly neat-o tricks it shows a table.
The growing number of shit slabs, or "skateparks" being built just for the purpose of pretty
much getting skateboarders to shut up and be "satisfied" so they will no longer skate street spots
is getting to be pretty high. Skaters are better off not requesting any parks to be built.. when those
building the park are not skateboarders and have no clue whatsoever about any of the
blueprints or ideas that the skaters actually want. See, we're better off letting them build plazas
or community centers since those actually have more to relate to skateboarding than the
rip-off skateparks. Either way, skateboard parks are enclosements and the allibi for
some to say "You can't skate here, go to your park!" (Go to your prison, where you will
forever grind that 3ft long rail over and over until it one day starts to bleed.)
To be fair, small town shmucks have no clue to see things through the eyes of a skateboarder, and
yes, we do have anti-authoritarian attitudes somewhat, in the way of seeing things around us
different than anybody else. When you're crusing around on your board looking for a skate spot,
what most people see as normal stairsets of railings, we see as a something to go for, see how many
tries it takes to get.. always knowing that soon you're going to get booted out of that spot and push off
to another place, and that cycle continues mostly.
Of course, some parks are fun to skate at, which is why it is such a shame some countys build such pathetic
things as quick as they can just to get over what the skateboarder's want.
When we're on the little wooden terror satan stick with wheels, it is like we are a soaring falcon, ignoring
everything else and we get that feeling of breezing through the air.. A moment of freedom.
No worries of finding a damn place to park your car, no leaders, no masters, no bills, none of that..
And when they try to condense you down to one particular area.. especially if it is a shitty one, we start to
feel like they're snipping off our wings. They'll never do that though, because no matter how many times
They try to confiscate boards, give us tickets, or ban the whole fucking act of skateboarding, it's
not going to stop.. it's just not. It's one of the last things that you can do to feel free, to express what you're
doing and to get away from that cash and fear-driven society. Something that strong cannot be tampered with.

One thing I regretfully lack is photos of the park, so I'm thinking that to be worth the waste of gas getting there,
I should probably wait until I have an upset stomach, because that park deserves to be shat upon.

(Other tidbits about this park:
-Appearently is cost $20 thousand to construct??? No, so much more could have been added
to the park for that amount. A different one in the NY area was $15 thou. and it is actually decent!
-This park is also a memorial! Is this really respectful or is building such a concrete ass-pimple
more of a poke to the corpse?)

Anyhow, that update was more of a rant than anything, but sometimes it is good to get things like
that out.

On the 24th I noticed this green shelled, yellow eyed, blue speckled
catipillar on my porch. I'm not very certain what type of insect this
is but hopefully I'll find out soon. (click for larger photos)

Then earlier today I saw 'em with it's face out of the catipillar
dragon costume.

Other recent non-humans worth mentioning are the newt that somehow
escaped everybody's footsteps on a trail,
Newt
the robot-version of Liam who can survive skateboarding in triple-
digit weather
Liam
and my vicious ladybug who shared the harsh sky pissing of mother nature
with me
Pour!
but at least it didn't knock the power out like later on when I got back home,
makes ya wonder how many humans will become obsolete if electricity goes out
for more than a week. The lack of hair curlers and "So you think you can dance!?"
repeats would probably push a good majority over the edge of insanity.

I added a new B-side song up to the mp3s section entitled "I Just
Want" which'll likely be on a later release. I'm leaving the No World
Order discs up for free stream a bit longer, just so more people
can hear the album so maybe I'll get more of a feedback on it, things
can get kinda grimey if you don't sell your soul to the music industry
or push out corny songs about shopping centers and money flow.

Today is the last day to stream the entire No World Order
album for free on the last.fm website. Click the links below

future to see what it is all about!! The skateboard company will
be run by both Glam and myself with our graphics on the decks.
More news on Defend Skateboarding coming soon.

I traveled through the deep green rugs of NY and found these
gigantic hillside fans overlooking the landscape! Also, there were
scary creeps and catfood contestants around the area.
Egghead or goosebump?

old man in a boat
You're just minding your own business outside before the sun is about to set
and then all of a sudden you turn around and see a giant one of these
huge ass balloon
plummeting towards you.
Anyhow, thanks a ton to Stella's Barn for letting me display some photos there
that are for sale. Check the place out sometime, there's a lot of cool items at the
store and you can grab some dinner there as well. A very cozy atmosphere there,
not like that corporate yuck yuck with total impatience like those damn american
express ads. Anyway.. Even more exciting news.. The skateboard project is going
through well and the blueprints are being laid out. If you don't know what I am talking
about yet, than you will soon. All I'll say for now is Defend Skateboarding!

(08/06/2007)

New song up on the mp3 section, download "Yes(Acoustic Version)"
here. You can check out the lyrics to it at the writing place.
"As Babylon builds we all get thrills, 13 hours a day
Hopped up like Virginia or columbine, black op, lay back and pray.
The voice of the voiceless the mute sounds of the choice less
The advertisements of older brother smother the pointless
Hunger gets thicker the starved children fill with rage
People, we’re equal, it’s about time we face that day."
