Breaks Free:

Jake Breaks Free:
by Leemonster
Everyday it was the same job and room.
All up until one weary day,
Has been a repeated task in which soon
would turn a normal day into a strange event.
Everyone thought they could shove him around.
It was a quiet morning on that Tuesday
Up until a shattering sound.
Nervous breakdown - is what they thought
But far from that it could be.
The window was a doorway,
A doorway where he broke free.
“That son of a bitch landed on his feet”
Is all those scumbags could think.
But he was smarter than the rest of them,
He had too much courage to work at a bank.
Just as the rest had gotten their composure,
The owner runs up in a rage.
Apparently, the self-freed man
Also freed all the money from the bank.
Now he had a say
And enough to spend
But the end of that day
Certainately was not the end.
The man, his name was Jake
And now a hell of a lot richer than he had been
Had also gained a bounty,
And needed a good friend.
He went to the gas station, still on foot.
Behind the counter was a startled ‘gal
He said “I’ll make you a proposition,
If you can help me flood this town.”
With a curious glee and confused smirk
She asked “What’s in it for me?”
“About 100 times your salary here
And your chance to break free.”
“But make your decision quick,
I have white and blue after me.”
And if he didn’t leave soon,
He’d be as surrounded as far as he could see.
Deep in thought, but considering the task,
The lady introduced herself as Jane.
She said “Why the hell not? I’ve nothing to lose.”
Her life would never again be plain.
“where’s your keys? I need to drive quick”
Jake sped his words all at once.
She tossed them to him, then afterwards
Filled, with fuel, the empty truck.
Just twenty minutes after acquaintance,
They were on the freeway with no plan.
Jane was filthy rich as passenger
And Jake was a freed man.
